The Great British Website Delivery Policy

General

We are not a Supermarket, Hooray(!), and as such, every order is sent to you directly from our Producing Partners. 

If you order items from more than one Partner you will in all likelihood receive multiple deliveries.

If you know you have ordered fresh produce (particularly meats, cheese, seafood or dairy), please look carefully at delivery estimates to make sure:

  • You are there to sign; or
  • Someone who a courier is authorised or instructed to leave an order with is in; or
  • Whether it wouldn’t be better to have your amazing TGBW meat pack delivered to your office where all your friend can be amazed at your commitment to our local producers! And you can sign for it and store it in a fridge if necessary…

How it works

Please be aware that our Delivery Policy is designed to work for both you, our valued customers and our brilliant Producing partners.

Our Partners specify their own delivery options. It really is that simple.

Their delivery options and charges can be seen on their product details pages, in your basket and also confirmed before you checkout.

You will note that the vast majority of items sold are either ‘inclusive’ of or ‘free’ delivery, that way you always know exactly what to expect.

Our Partners agree with our strict: ‘No profit on Delivery policy’ here at TGBW, so any delivery charges either reflect the cost or are often subsidised by our Partners themselves.

Our Partners try as far as possible to offer prompt dispatch and delivery, but such is the nature of small batch and artisan producers, that stock has to be juggled and is sometimes tricky. As such we recommend bearing in mind:

Shop early and often(!), to make sure if you want that amazing Black Mountain Welsh Lamb, or Orkney Buffalo for your Sunday roast you order in good time to arrive. 

Some products require a good deal or prep and to avoid wastage may have a lead-in time of several days before dispatch.

Check your emails, as Partners will confirm when it has left them.

As soon as your items have been dispatched you will receive confirmation that your delivery is on its way. If you’d still like more help, get in touch with us – we’ll be very happy to help.

All delivery options are for Great Britain deliveries only. International delivery is not currently available on TGBW. 

It is at our Partner’s absolute discretion as to whether they ship outside of the UK mainland (Isles and Islands), some may not; others may have a delivery surcharge to cover Ferries etc. Partners make it clear on their product pages what their delivery options, costs and at times, limitations.

You may ask occasionally, why are the chutneys in multi-packs?!  (Or something similar!) The simple reason is that often the more items you order from any one food maker often the more economical the delivery charges will be and our Partners are looking to minimize the costs passed on to you.

Late delivery

Very occasionally, unavoidable factors can delay a delivery (bad weather or postal strikes, for example). We do ask for your patience if this happens – our Partner(s) will be doing their very best to sort it out for you.

If your items haven't arrived within the delivery timescales and you haven't heard from the Producing Partner, something may have gone wrong. Get in touch with us or to let us know.
